Time Travel Sports.

Time Travel? The domain name timetravelsports.com is inspired by my background as a physics & astronomy major. In making sports predictions, one studies what has happened in the past, assesses teams strengths today, and makes forecasts for the future. It's basically science, and time is so much a part of it, it can feel like time travel to study these things!

Background: I have degrees in physics and astronomy. I started dabbling in computer programming around 1983, and first experimented with college football power ratings in '93. Throughout my college and grad school careers, I was attracted to problems involving intensive computation. Combined with a lifelong fascination with college football predictions, rankings and controversies, the result is this business.

My first professional activities related to power ratings and predictions started around 2004, and this business turned this into a serious effort in 2008. I have not advertised, so you are probably here by word-of-mouth. I'm glad to meet new clients, and hope you will try it out.

Today there are well over one hundred college football power ratings systems being published on the Internet (but far fewer for other sports). We were there from the early days - I first posted ratings on rec.sport.college.football in 1993. Very few others have such a long-established presence.
